About us

A bank that became a hotel

Our hotel in Eskifjörður has deep roots in the community. It used to be the town bank, and the old safe still stands in the hallway.

We have 20 rooms: 17 doubles, 2 wheelchair-friendly doubles and one family room. All are newly renovated, with en-suite bathrooms and quality mattresses, and Hólmatindur, the mountain across the fjord, keeps watch over every one of them.

Our team is a mixed bag of deep-rooted locals, Icelanders from elsewhere, seasonal workers, and people who are part of the project in other and very important ways. We are here to give every guest the best experience and will happily recommend places to eat and people to talk to.

Arrive by car, by plane to Egilsstaðir, or by ferry to Seyðisfjörður. Whichever way you choose, you are most welcome to tell us about it, and other worldly stories of your choice. We don't fact-check your stories.
